Hybrid Composition and Characteristics:
Cadan 99B WMR is a triple-cross, red-seeded sorghum-sudangrass hybrid. It is known for its exceptional leafiness, high protein content, and sweet flavor. The plant is bred to enhance digestibility, providing over 1,100 pounds of net available digestible energy per acre. It also features a dry-stalk gene for rapid dry-down, making it highly suitable for hay and silage production​

Growth and Adaptability:
This hybrid thrives in a variety of conditions, demonstrating excellent drought tolerance while responding well to irrigation. It grows 6 to 10 feet tall and is adaptable to multiple soil and climate types, making it a robust option for diverse agricultural regions

Planting and Harvesting Guidelines:
Cadan 99B is ideally planted between late April and mid-August when soil temperatures reach 60-65°F. It requires a planting depth of ¾ to 1½ inches and performs best in narrow rows. The crop can yield 3-7 tons of dry matter per acre, depending on planting time and water availability

Usage and Application:
This crop is suitable for various purposes including grazing, hay, green chop, and silage. It is particularly effective as a forage crop for cattle due to its palatability and high energy content. Proper management is crucial to mitigate risks such as prussic acid and nitrate poisoning in livestock

Standability and Lodging Resistance:
Cadan 99B WMR has excellent standability, reducing the risk of lodging to about 5% compared to other varieties, which can have lodging rates as high as 23.8%. This stability ensures reliable yields even under adverse weather conditions
